High Strangeness and Parapsychology: Exploring the Deep Weird

This symposium is about the stranger reaches of extraordinary experience research and how they intersect with findings and theories in parapsychology. We will examine why some of the most unusual experiential reports - what we might call 'high strangeness' experiences - come to be neglected in the academic study of extraordinary experiences, even within what is already a relatively fringe field of inquiry.

The Simulation Hypothesis, Savant Syndrome, and Psi

The hypothesis that we are living in a simulation is gaining traction in mainstream science while providing a theoretical foundation by which the anomalous phenomena studied by parapsychology could be explained. This symposium will explore what living in a simulation might mean, its implications, and whether or not it is a testable hypothesis.

Women and Parapsychology Revisited

In 1991, there was a PF conference organized by Lisette Coly and Rhea White with the title "Women and Parapsychology". The conference was devoted to various aspects of women working as parapsychologists and their specific conditions in this field of research. The topics of the contributions ranged from historical to psychological to socio-political aspects. 30 years later, we would like to take another look at this topic and see if and what has changed in the meantime.
