James G. Matlock, PhD, is an anthropologist and specialist in reincarnation studies. He coauthored with Erlendur Haraldsson the book titled I Saw a Light and Came Here: Children's Experiences of Reincarnation. He is also a regular contributor to the online Psi Encyclopedia sponsored by the Society for Psychical Research. He has authored dozens of academic papers concerning reincarnation and related areas.

In his new book, Signs of Reincarnation: Exploring Beliefs, Cases, and Theory, he discusses historical and cultural beliefs in reincarnation, methods used to study reincarnation, studies involving children, studies involving adults with past-life memories, and ideas about the process of reincarnation. With a foreword by Jeffrey Mishlove and an Afterword by Michael Nahm, this book is one of the single best resources for the study of reincarnation available today.
