The Parapsychological Association will host the online symposium Advances in Mediumship Research on February 27, 2021. We look forward to you attending.

Research Abstracts for oral presentations are now being accepted for consideration by Program Chair Helané Wahbeh. Abstracts will be accepted on all aspects of mediumship research with any study design, including but not limited to mental mediumship or trance mediumship/channeling laboratory and field studies, or case studies using qualitative or quantitative methods.

Submission Deadline: January 8, 2021, at 23:59 Pacific Time.

Submission Requirements
The presenting author is expected to register for the symposium by February 20, 2021.
Submissions must include the following information:

  • Contact and biographical information for all presenters involved in the session being proposed
  • Abstract title (maximum of 100 characters)
  • Abstract summary (500 characters or less)
  • Abstract - Up to 1200 words and must include the following information: Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

Evaluation
Abstracts must present original data. Abstracts will be evaluated on the data included in the submission. All proposals will undergo peer-review and will be determined using the following questions:

  • Does the abstract address an important and novel question?
  • Is the study relevant to the mediumship field?
  • Does the study design permit the question to be answered?
  • Are the endpoints of the study clearly defined?
  • Is there an appropriate use of statistics?
  • Are the methods described in sufficient detail?
  • Do the data support the conclusions?
  • Were submission guidelines followed?

If numerous excellent submissions are received, an ePoster session may be added to the symposium.

Notification of your proposal status will be sent by January 22, 2021.
