The winner of the 2014 PA Outstanding Contribution Award is Chris A. Roe. This yearly award is given to a PA Professional or Associate Member who has made an outstanding research or service contribution that has advanced the discipline of parapsychology.

Chris Roe is Professor of Psychology at the University of Northampton, Research Leader for the Psychology Division and Director of the university’s Centre for the Study of Anomalous Psychological Processes. He has a PhD from the Koestler Parapsychology Unit, University of Edinburgh, for work on the psychology of psychic reading.

His research interests include factors associated with paranormal belief and anomalous experiences, the psychology of deception, and psychological correlates of performance on laboratory-based tests of extrasensory perception and psychokinesis. Recently his publications have focused on the role of ASCs and unconscious processes in lab-based ESP, phenomenological approaches to mediumship, and noncontact healing effects.

He is Editor of the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research and is currently a Committee Member of the British Psychological Society Section for Transpersonal Psychology, Council Member of the Society for Psychical Research, and International Affiliate for England for the Parapsychology Foundation. He has supervised 6 PhD students to completion and currently supervises 10 PhD projects, of which 7 concern parapsychological or transpersonal topics.
