Student Members are individuals:
a) interested in the scientific and scholarly advancement of parapsychology
b) provided evidence of status as a high school student or a student at an accredited college or university working toward a baccalaureate or more advanced degree
c) have paid the appropriate dues.
Student Members do not have voting rights in the corporation. Dues are $50 (USD) per year.
If you sign up as a Student Member, a copy of your current student ID must be provided.
A Supporting Member shall be a person:
a) who has an interest in the scientific and scholarly advancement of parapsychology
b) who has paid the appropriate dues.
Supporting Members do not have voting rights in the corporation. Dues are $100 (USD) per year.
An Associate Member shall be a person who has met two of the following three criteria:
a) who possesses a graduate degree or professional affiliation at a recognized academic or research institution
b) who has been nominated by a Professional member in good standing; and/or
c) who has published a refereed article that advances the science or scholarship of parapsychology in a recognized academic journal, or presents a talk deemed to be of high quality at a recognized professional conference
Associate Members have full voting rights in elections and meetings of the corporation. Dues are $100 (USD) per year.
A Professional Member shall be a person:
a) who has been nominated by two Professional members in good standing
b) who has published two or more refereed articles OR two or more presentations deemed to be of high quality that advances the science or scholarship of parapsychology in a recognized academic journal or professional conference
Professional Members nominate candidates to the Board of Directors and to the office of President-elect and Vice President and have full voting rights in elections and meetings of the corporation. Dues are $100 (USD) per year.
Professional membership requires sponsorship by two Professional Members of the Parapsychological Association. The applicant is responsible for obtaining and submitting reference letters. If you are unable to meet this requirement, we encourage you to apply for Supporting Membership.
An Honorary Member shall be a person:
a) who, in the opinion of the Membership Committee, has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of parapsychology in areas other than scientific research
b) who has been nominated by three Directors
c) who has been elected by a unanimous vote of the Membership Committee
An Honorary Member shall not pay membership dues. Honorary Members do not have voting rights in the corporation. There is no application for this membership category.
