Promoted by Faculdades Integradas Espírita the 6th Journey of Altered States of Consciousness (ASCs) will be held with the objective of offering participants the opportunity to experience favourable environments for ASCs. Throughout history, Psi phenomena have often been related to dreams, hypnosis, meditation and other ASCs, brought about by natural or deliberately produced means. Evidence of this relationship can be found, in part, through the study of spontaneous cases, reports of diverse cultural practices, clinical observations and experimental studies. Thus, a possible and practical experience of these states could prove to be important for participants, whether through stimulation of the self-conscious process, or as a complementary aspect of the study of these phenomena.

For the implementation of this journey, 4 locations/activities have been selected*: 1) Umbanda Centre Pai Maneco (Afro-Brazilian religion); 2) União Fraternal Universal (pyramid therapy); 3) Santo Daime; and 4) Aty Guarani (Brazilian shaman ritual involving singing, prayer and dancing).
